For most children with autism in Ghana, their lives are confined to the indoors of their homes and those who go out are carefully monitored.

But a little girl with this condition seems to be charting a path which could be described as uncharacteristic of those with the disorder. 12-year-old Yacoba Tete-Marmon wants to be a professional model and has already taken some giant strides towards it.

To mark her 12th birthday which fell on Tuesday, October 16, Yacoba dressed up beautiful and had make-up done just like models for photo shoots.

In photos sighted by Fashionpivot.com, Yacoba was dressed in a colourful Kente with ornaments to match as she gave an infectious smile for the cameras.

An autism awareness activist Afi Antonio who organised the photoshoot shared the photos on Facebook to wish Yacoba a happy birthday.

“Happy birthday my girl, my baby, my pretty model living with AUTISM. I love you Yacoba Let’s help her modeling carrier by signing her up for billboard ads, brands and products promotions etc. Let’s give children living with autism same opportunities given to others.

I am for inclusion ✌ Autism is not a tragedy, ignorance is… Makeup by Sally Embil Photos by Nana Akua Owusua Knii Reggie Venue Arts Center Accra Josephine Bankole your daughter is a princess,” Afi wrote.

We wish her a happy birthday and pray her dream comes true.
