Black-Owned Netherlands Fashion Brands Unite For Black Lives Matter T-Shirts
In light of ongoing anti-racist activations, seven Black-owned Netherlands fashion brands have united for a special Black Lives Matter T-shirt intended to benefit several local progressive movements. Daily Paper, Patta, Filling Pieces, Olaf Hussein, Smib, The New Originals and Hosselaer have utilized artist Farida Sedoc’s No Justice No Peace as the centerpiece of a special made-to-order charity T-shirt.

Dubbed “In Unity, There Is Strength,” the collaborative design features Sedoc’s art on the front, borrowed from the posters that she created for the Stedelijk Museum in dialogue with the Black Lives Matter demonstrations. On the rear, Each fashion label’s logo is realized beneath the bold-face slogan that informs the shirt’s title. All of the proceeds from the tee will benefit Kick Out Zwarte Piet, The Black Archives, and Black Queer & Trans Resistance NL, Dutch organizations that combat and organize protests against injustice (e.g. racism, white supremacy, transphobia).

Each $56 USD T-shirt is available as a made-to-order purchase on Black Lives Matter’s Amsterdam site, with pre-sale ending on July 3.
