Founded in Cologne, Germany over 100 years ago, iconic premium luggage purveyor RIMOWA has just announced the debut of its updated product line — kicking it off with an Off-White™ collaboration.

Centered around a series of technical advancements including upgraded wheels, handles and interiors, the rethought product line reworks RIMOWA’s three key luggage styles to cater to a contemporary traveler’s needs. The iconic aluminum-refined Original, polycarbonate constructed Essential, and extremely lightweight Essential LITE redesigns are sleeker and feature new matte and gloss tones adorned with a new logo.

To kick off the visual identity, RIMOWA CEO Alexandre Arnault and Virgil Abloh of Off-White™ came together on a special series of luggage options. Set to be the first of a series of collabs, the team builds on RIMOWA’s re-design elements for an expression of lifestyle meets fashion. Utilizing the technical advancements and elevated construction options, Alexandre and Virgil created outlandish clear polycarbonate Essential suitcases with a matte tone. The suitcases come co-branded and accompanied by “MISCELLANEOUS” emblazoned dividers and a matching amenity kit. According to Virgil, the collaboration was to give a sense of personality, adding “an emotional component to owning [the suitcase].” Going on to say, “…you become a performance art piece just by using the thing. It’s like putting your items on display and rethinking the premise of a product.”

Check out the RIMOWA’s latest collaboration above and look for the suitcases to make its official debut at Off-White™’s upcoming men’s show in Paris June 20, and expect them to be available for purchase at select RIMOWA and Off-White™ come June 25.
