The preliminary activities ahead of the 2018 Miss Universe finale are underway Bangkok, Thailand and Ghana’s Ekpene Diata Hoggar has hogged some global attention to herself following Monday’s National Costume contest. 

The Dailymail has called Diata’s outfit as fierce! Miss Ghana Diata Hoggar’s costume was inspired by a warrior queen and represented her country’s strength and power. She donned a black leather bodice and a skirt adorned with straw to highlight Ghana’s connection to the earth and sun. On top of her head, she wore a sunlight headpiece of gold.

The outfit was illustrated by Dharren and styled by Kelvin Vincent and Yartel.

Each of the pageant’s 94 contestants showed off their one-of-a-kind ensembles during the event.

Some of the beauty queens opted for sparkly gowns covered with jewels, while others wore next to nothing and modelled bodysuits and bikinis.

The national costume presentation is only one part of the pageant, which will be held at Impact, Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok on December 17
