From September 29 to October 7, Paris will become the epicenter of fashion as a new wave of creative director debuts takes over the Spring 2026 women’s ready-to-wear season.

The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode released the official Paris Fashion Week schedule on Thursday, revealing 76 runway shows and 36 presentations. But what truly stands out this season is the unprecedented number of high-profile creative shakeups at some of fashion’s most iconic houses.

Among the most anticipated moments is Matthieu Blazy’s debut at Chanel. His first collection for the house will be shown at 8 p.m. on October 6 at the Grand Palais. On October 1 at 2:30 p.m., Jonathan Anderson will present his first Dior women’s collection, following his recent Dior men’s debut. Another show drawing major attention is Pierpaolo Piccioli’s first collection for Balenciaga, scheduled for October 4 at 8 p.m., as he steps in after Demna’s exit.

New energy is also coming to Mugler, where Miguel Castro Freitas will unveil his first collection on October 2 at noon. The next day at 11:30 a.m., Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez will debut their vision for Loewe.

On October 4 at noon, Glenn Martens will show his first ready-to-wear collection for Maison Margiela, following his much-talked-about couture debut in July. And on October 5 at 4:30 p.m., Duran Lantink will bring Jean Paul Gaultier back to the RTW calendar for the first time in over a decade.

As these creative transitions unfold, many are wondering whether bold new ideas can help pull the luxury industry out of its current slump. With sales slowing, labor controversies, data breaches, and trade hurdles mounting, the sector faces real pressure. But with so many fresh perspectives hitting the runway this season, there’s cautious hope that innovation might just point the way forward.
