WORRIED that stripes don’t suit you? It may be time to ditch horizontal for vertical.

Here’s our “do’s” and “don’ts”…

DO
1. Wear Pyjama stripes to work – The PJ trend is still going strong and looks effortlessly cool.

Vertical stripes will make you look taller and thinner, so what’s not to love?

2. Make a statement- Striped Palazzo pants are a total go to for a day to night look, make them your investment piece of the season

3. Play with proportions- High-waisted pants with a crop top will make your legs look six inches longer

4. Size matters- Thin vertical stripes will make you look thinner whilst wider vertical stripes will make you look wider

5. A can-do co-ord- Suit lovers should rock a matching jacket and trousers for a runway ready look

DON’T
1. Go a size too small – Nobody wants to see their stripes stretching out of shape or an unwanted camel toe framed by vertical stripes!

2. Go horizontal stripes – This will always make you look wider. If you want to slim an area always go horizontal

3. Let anything else fight for attention- Own your stripes, the bolder the better!

4. Do deckchair all over- Bigger stripes look better on a single item, just a shirt or a pair of pants not both, unless you are a six foot super model in which case go for it!

5. Stand too close to a zebra crossing- Just saying!
