Viola Davis Transformed Into An African Queen At The Golden Globes 2021
The 78th annual Golden Globe Awards held last night and so many amazing talents were honoured. While the event took a different turn this year due to the pandemic, the stars still got dressed to the nines for the virtual ceremony – amidst the frothy gowns, power suits and bold sparkly dresses (Hi Tiffany Haddish), no one can deny that Viola Davis brought colour, prints, and pizzaz to the event in a striking La Vie By CK floor-length gown.
The look designed by Cameroonian designer Claude Kameni, is from her brand’s recently debuted Autumn/Winter 2021 collection. It featured the brand’s signature Ankara prints in vibrant red and yellow. Viola wore the gown with a gorgeous hairdo that complimented her subtle glam makeup.
According to her stylist “Viola wanted a designer that spoke to her as a Black woman. So how do you define glamour in a new era striving for more diversity and inclusivity? In the world of fashion, that still has a way to go, this is a fabulous start.”
