Glitz Africa Fashion Week has provided opportunities for fashion designers to showcase their brands to a vast audience, fashion lovers, fashionistas, retailers, fashion buyers, local and international press.

Riohs Originate Company Limited has established itself as the ultimate Fashion School in Ghana for providing excellent tuition in Fashion Design and Illustration in just six months. The Company is credited and noted for starting the six (6) months course in Fashion Design and Illustration in Ghana some ten (10) years ago. Over the past years, Riohs Originate has provided services and training for individuals/organizations that value their image, style, colour and insist on promptness, accuracy and consistency. The real bonus at RIOHS is that the fees are about a third of those charged by traditional universities and students can study at without leaving their existing commitments such as part-time jobs, or family/career responsibilities.

Aside being an avenue for establish and up & coming designers to display their work, the fashion show is an opportunity to appreciate the different ways people choose to present themselves. Glitz Africa Fashion Week however has already proven to be different as ten (10) students of the topmost fashion industry award winner “Best Fashion School in Ghana” RIOHS Originate would be featured in this event.

The Glitz Africa Fashion Week, Young Design Talents Project Show, is a highly anticipated show where young fashion designers are able to create and showcase their apparel skills. Francis Kwabena Fosu a tutee of the institution will outdoor his collection at this year’s edition slated for 18th October, 2019.

The Graduate Show is slated for 19th October, 2019 and it is no surprise that three graduands; Augustina Avonsige as the major designer for American makeup brand Maybelline, Eleanor Abrafi Riverson and Derrick Amponsah Boadi will unveil their new collection at this year’s edition with Zaliatu Saamu, Melissa Aba Wallace, Julius Sormdi, Bertha, Djangmakuor Okumo, Beatrice Abena Kyei, Ramatu Amidu acting as dressers at the event

The event began with a Bauty Forum on Thursday, 17th October at the Labadi Beach Hotel and a private cocktail party.

Other activities for the  event include:

1st day (18th Oct.) – Young Design Talent show, runway shows

2nd day (19th Oct.) – Business of fashion seminar, photography sessions, exhibitions, graduate show,  and runway shows

3rd day (20th Oct.) – Presentations, runway shows and after party

The GAFW Trade Tent/Retail Lounge will be open from Friday (18th) to Sunday (20th) – from 10am to 9pm for guests to interact with fashion retailers and designers and make purchases as well.
