Amoako Boafo’s Rich Palette Informs Dior’s Summer 2021 Campaign Imagery
Dior (PARIS:CDI.PA -0.09%) ‘s current seasonal artist collaboration sees the lush artwork of Ghanian painter Amoako Boafo rendered across apparel and accessories, including opulent knitwear, delicate shirts and even patterned scarves. For its Summer 2021 campaign, Boafo’s work and Dior’s latest designs take center stage, united in colorful photographs across a painterly backdrop.
Brazilian photographer Rafael Pavarotti snapped the campaign imagery, which takes special care to cast a lingering glance across the many covetable sweaters and plush bags offered in the new collection. Dior’s Oblique pattern coincides with Boafo’s stylized portraits and rich floral wallpaper designs, gracing shirts and long-sleeved tees alike. Elsewhere, classic menswear items are refreshed with relaxed, summery proportions: crisp white shirts are rendered oversized and creased shorts are shrunk, while Dior’s signature Saddle bag appears in a new Maxi size.
“The vibrant colors of this campaign perfectly reflect the powerful energy of the summer 2021 collection,” offered Jones in a statement. “It’s really a celebration of Amoako Boafo’s work.”
Shop early bits of Summer 2021 apparel on Dior’s website and stores; four of Boafo’s items are available online already, including a lavish $3,300 USD yellow cashmere turtleneck sweater.
