First teased late last year, LOEWE continues its collaborative series with the Studio Ghibli museum, this time inspired by the highly-acclaimed animated epic Spirited Away.

Marking the second partnership between the two entities, this collection sees iconic characters from the movie such as Chihiro, Haku and the faceless spirit Kaonashi featured on a range of ready-to-wear garments and accessories. Arriving in loose-cut shapes and relaxed fit silhouettes, the offering is comprised of a selection of T-shirts, hoodies, cardigans, denim pants and puffers as well as a range of the brand’s signature leather bag styles, blankets and scarves.

Applied in jacquard print, leather marquetry as well as embroidery, LOEWE also taps into Japanese traditions by introducing the patchwork technique known as ‘boro’ to create unique designs. Using these methods the characters are brought to life as seen with the soot-spirit figure Susuwatari who’s interpreted as pompon add-ons onto the range.

Focussed on the intersection between fantasy and reality, the campaign, shot by renowned photographer Juergen Teller, features artist Dua Saleh and plays with the eeriness of shadows.
