A new Guinness World Record for the largest T-shirt has been set by Asociatia 11even, Kaufland Romania and Federatia Romana.

The apparel measures at 108.96 m/357.48 ft long and 73.48 m/241.08 ft wide and features a “reinterpreted model” of the national flag, with the triple-colored belt also seen on the Romanian rugby team’s official jersey. Unveiled in Bucharest, Romania in late March, Asociatia 11even, Kaufland Romania and Federatia Romana aimed to encourage the general public to recycle, utilizing over 500,000 recycled plastic bottles to create the T-shirt. It took more than three weeks to collect the bottles via Kaufland Romania, a month to be sown by seamstresses and a whole day to unfurl it.

With the project complete and the record set, the apparel was deconstructed into 10,000 different items of clothing and donated to underprivileged children.
