Playboy Adds Bunny Logo & Vintage Magazine Covers To Alpha Industries’ MA-1 Jacket

Alpha Industries‘ Fall/Winter 2020 presentation gets stronger and stronger this season, having collaborated with the likes of ADER error, Gloverall, IAB-Studio, and now, Playboy.

It’s a collaboration that makes perfect sense, as both Alpha Industries and Playboy have their roots in the U.S. military. In the ’60s, Alpha Industries was producing M-65 jackets for troops who were in combat in Vietnam, and at the same time, Playboy rolled out its “Operation Playmate” program which supported the Armed Forces with pen-pals, which was aimed to boost morale.

For the latest FW20 collaboration, the two iconic American imprints have combined their signature aesthetics to create a limited-edition MA-1 bomber jacket. Dubbed the MA-1 Battlewash Flight Jacket, this piece sports a body made entirely from nylon and polyester that’s been treated to a garment-dyed “New Silver” finish, all while sporting key elements such as the Playboy bunny on logo on the rear and chest.

Traditional Alpha Industries elements such as the “Remove Before Flight” tag, utility sleeve pockets with pen inserts, and the knitted cuffs, all appear. However, to switch things up Playboy has lined the reversible jacket with vintage Playboy Magazine covers.
