Glitz Africa Fashion Week, Ghana’s biggest fashion event, held its 10th edition from October 19 – 23,
2022; with a variety of activities for the fashion community.


Oct. 19 – It kicked off with an influencers’ brunch where Glitz Africa hosted a number of social media
influencers at the Treehouse located at Nyaniba Market, Osu. They discussed the role of influencers in
creativity and sustainability in fashion.

Oct. 20 – Next was the Beauty Forum held at The Under Bridge, East Legon where an open forum was
held with the guests and speakers on beauty and aesthetics encompassing hair and makeup with live
demonstrations. An innovative beauty pitch competition in partnership with Pitch Better Africa was held
at the event with Eyifah Beauty picking up the cash prize of GHC 10,000.00.
Speakers at the forum included: Melody Owusu (Founder, MelzBeauty lashes), Mya James (CEO, Thrive 7
Wellness Corp), Mybritt Aidoo (Owner, Beauty bar NLD), Asare Prince (Makeup Artist, Asare Prince
Beauty), Akai Kotei (Beauty Content Creator), Vincentia Ocloo (Vincentia Ocloo, Viola Beauty), Emily
Bodom (Owner, Enhance by EB), Angela Attoh (Fulfilled Aesthetics), Awurama Amoah (Owner, Adem
Only Hair), Bibish Mbemba (Owner, Kitoko Makeup), and Delawoe (Co-owner, Nuhair). Andria Asare
Adjei (Founder, Kannis Beauty, UK) and Mami Gyamfua Yeboah (Founder, Oh My Hair) served as hosts.

Oct. 21 – The Sustainable Fashion Show followed the next day at the Nubuke Foundation with designers
such as Hazza, Al Woman, Zakiyya Mahama, Amin, Kofi Maako and Ajepomaa Gallery showcasing their
sustainable designs.

Oct. 22 – The Business of Fashion Seminar took place at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference
Centre which held three panel discussions; on Brand marketing in the digital era with Stefania Manfreda
(Founder, Lokko House), Daniel Sarpong (Global Sales Coach) and Owusu Marfo (Head of Uber
Experience & Marketing, Hubtel) with Chrystal Kwame-Aryee (Professional MC & Broadcast Journalist)
as moderator. Another discussion with Deladem Ephraim-Etsey (Fashion Consultant) and Percy Nii Okine
(Founder & Creative Director, N3D Studios) on the topic, ‘Digital fashion: is this the biggest trend?’ with
Helen Appiah-Ampofo (TV & Radio Broadcast Presenter) as the moderator.
Journalist and TV Presenter Dela Michel moderated the third panel comprising Kwasi Kyei Darkwah MA,
AVP (Media, Brands & Culture Expert), Mellisa C. Kpobi (Sales Strategist), Elikem Kumordzie (Fashion
Designer) discussing the topic, ‘Psychology of fashion – how to gain brand loyalty.’
There was also a Hubtel moment with Kofi Adjei (Product Manager, Hubtel) where he educated the
guests present about the use of the Hubtel app.
Designers who showcased their collections at the main GAFW show included: Design Shark, Reeya Swim,
Aviella et Mondroit, Clemas, Kwelaku, Elikem Kumordzie, Pills & Pozin, Moon By Me, Jants Collection
Mades Luxury, Mariya Sanusi, Ejiro, Attoh Andoh, Sima Brew, Telvin Nwafor, Nyonuvi, Konye and Ugo
Monye.

Oct. 23 – It ended with an Evening with Nigerian Bespoke designer Atafo Official at The Lotte,
Cantonment where guests were treated to an exclusive presentation of his collection.
Glitz Africa Fashion Week 2022 ended with a Fashion Night Out after party at Front Back.
Partners of GAFW ’22 included; Hubtel, Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana Free Zones Authority,
Samsung, Scent of Africa
Supporting Partners were: Number One Oxford Street Hotel & Suites, Mac Cosmetics, Darling Ghana,
Verna Natural Mineral Water and Starbites.
